A Kenyan featured in the finalist for the first time for 2026 LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers with Julie Kegels winning the main 2026 LVMH at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
Kenyan designer Anil Padia, founder of Yoshita 1967 (@yoshita1967), has won the 2026 LVMH Savoir-Faire Prize, an award created to recognise craftsmanship and the knowledge behind how clothes are made. For Yoshita 1967, that work has been developed through crochet, hand embellishment and close collaboration with women artisans in Kenya. Padia receives €200,000 and a year of mentorship from LVMH, marking a significant moment for a label that has made craft central to its identity..
